Community Engagement
The idea of community involvement directly ties in with the idea of a community land trust since it not only creates cheaper housing but allows the people of Newham to have a genuine involvement in the development. This idea is an attempt to combat the lack of trust that the community has had in the past in order to bring the community closer together. There has been many failed attempts to regenerate the site therefore it is vital we gain the trust of the community.

In addition to the involvement of the community in the development, the new multiplex and the range of shops that will be implemented creates a huge range of jobs for residents which in turn decreases the unemployment rates in the area that were mentioned in the socio-economic profile of the area. To further the idea of employment being created, the job itself in building the development will create a large demand for work with builders, developers and any other profession that is required.

Lastly the assets that will be obtained in the scheme compliment the idea of community involvement due to the fact they become long term for the future generations of the city. This creates a sense of cohesion between the different generations in Newham. Additionally, the commercial buildings being implemented continue to generate income for the borough.
