We aim to create a safe site designed by locals that promotes opportunities for the community whilst retaining the heritage of Newham.
The proposed regeneration of the site does directly link in with our vision of a safe community led development. The use of natural surveillance is maximised across the site, with the use of well light open spaces, with edges activated wherever possible.

The idea of a development which has a high level of community involvement and input was very important on this site, especially given the sites heritage. Following in the steps of the People’s plan, a plan for the area from 1983 which was created primarily as a response to the proposed development of the London City Airport. The huge injection of money into the airport was seen as spitting in the face of the wider area which was struggling through a severe economic depression at the time.
Items which were raised in this plan have been utilised in this proposal, such as sports centres with the gym and adaptive spaces atop the gym and large recreational/retail centres which is seen in the multiplex development.
