Case Studies

Using other similar developments as case studies, we were able to draw inspiration from past waterside industrial developments when considering options for this site. The primary regeneration project which has inspired our development proposal was Stratford and the Olympic Park.

The Olympic pork includes five new neighbourhoods with 10'000 new homes by 2030, a third of which affordable. The scale of this development is vast but does highlight some of the key ambitions which our proposal also shares. With a vision of "an innovative London metropolitan centre with a global focus, powered by inclusive growth, with community and opportunity at its heart" it also shares physical attributes of our site such as a large shopping centre and integrated green space.

The aim of tackling joblessness in the east end of London is also a shared ambition, with the BBC saying that "20,000 jobs could be created by 2030, bringing more than £5 billion into the area."
