Millenium Mills
Vision for the Mills
Overall, we wanted to revitalise the Millennium Mills to its former glory whilst modernising it as part of a state of the art development. The Mills will consist of 36 1-bed flats, 36 2-bed flats, 36 3-bed flats and 28 4-bed flats equalling a total of 136 apartments in the Mills, in an attempt to put a dent in the housing crisis in Newham.

In addition to this, there will be a bar and gym on the upper floors of the development in order top offer employment as well as employment with the opportunity for a degree in the gym. This will help any form of education in the Newham and those who are struggling to achieve.

Lastly, on the bottom floor of the development, there will be an array of shops and retail units which will provide further employment as well as activating the waterfront, which was previously mentioned=.

Site Surrounding the Mills
The site surrounding the Millennium Mills itself has unlimited potential for ideas to take place. For example, we will be using the waterfront to our advantage, not only by activating them with the new implemented shops along the bottom floor, but also by the bars and other amenities above the new housing which will overlook the waterfront and the nearby city. This will bring a large number of tourists to the site as well as attracting the locals to the area, subsequently enjoying where they live.
To extend on this, we can see the nearby green area on the south side of the site which will further improve the Mills in terms of an open space for residents that's within walking distance. The green area will also combat the high density of buildings in the area.
