Strengths and Weaknesses

As demonstrated below, the idea of a commnity land trust offers both positives and negative for the site which could give cause for argument against the development, however, if executed correctly, the CLT will be hugely helpful for the community. An example of this would have been Coin Street whereby prices were cut dramatically for the community which is further explained on the case studies section of my individual work.

Strength - Subsidary land prices

The community land trust makes the houses genuinely affordable for residents.

Weakness - Tension

On the other hand, the more people involved can result in increased tension due to proposed outcome

Strength - Genuine community involvement

The integration of the public sector allow for people voices to be heard

Weakness - Differing levels of power

Due to differing levels of profession and resources, it could result in increased tension between the two sectors.

Strength - More needs will be achieved

The higher level of input results in a more well rounded outcome for those living there due to more ideas.

Weakness - Lack of trust

Due to the previous plans that have failed, there is a lack of trust in private investors from the community
